Since 2011, a special team consisting of mechanical engineers, acousticians and PhDs specialized in vibro-acoustics have been working in synergy with Canadian Malartic Mine (CMM), Canada’s largest open-pit gold mine. The objective? Monitoring and mitigating CMM’s mining equipment noise emissions 24/7, 365 days/year, to enhance their community relationships and be a role model organization in terms of environmental noise standards.

With several mining operations carried less than 400 meters (1312 ft) from the nearest residential dwellings, CMM’s challenge became Soft dB’s opportunity to let its unique expertise shine. So much in fact that Canadian Malartic Mining Noise Management Program recently got shortlisted for Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois 2020, presented by Quebec’s Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (AFG).

We are thrilled to be entering a new partnership agreement with Muzikos Ekspresas, a renowned AV solution provider based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Backed by a multidisciplinary team of certified professionals with extensive field experience, MEX is one of Lithuania’s go-to resources for the custom development and installation of audio transmission, automated alarm management, and conference systems that are perfectly tailored to public and individual needs. Effective March 1 2020, they will be responsible for integrating Soft dB’s sound masking technology in office environments all over Lithuania.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-François Cauchon to the role of Executive Vice-President. This nomination is timely in view of Soft dB’s outstanding year over year growth, and recent expansion across key strategic markets. We have a special mission here at Soft dB and this is reflected through our teamwork, our attention to product quality, and our dedication to customers. As EVP, Jeff will be in the perfect position to support our commitment to excellence and drive innovative strategies to bring the overall Soft dB experience to new heights.

We are thrilled to welcome Paul Barnard as our new sound masking sales manager for Ontario, effective January 1 2020. As an experienced sales leader with over 20 years of expertise in senior level business development, marketing and management, he will work alongside Jeff Harvey, who previously joined our ranks in summer 2019, to deliver new value to our rapidly growing client base, not only in the Greater Toronto Area, but also in major cities all across the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba.
